On this page are some of the guests staying at Bobtails until they can find a new family of their very own. Adopting a rabbit shouldn't be taken lightly, we can live for over 7 years and need a need lots of room to live. Then of course there's all that food to pay for and vets bills when we're feeling poorly.

If you can't find a bunny that you think might fit into your life on this page, why not visit us, there are always lots of rabbits to cuddle and you might make a new friend.

Rabbits for Adoption

Nebula - I AM IN MY NEW HOME
Nebula is a tan dwarf lop who arrived at the rescue after being dumped on our doorstep in a cardboard box. It was just lucky that we were at home and went outside before the fox found her - that would have been an easy meal for him. Nebula is estimated to be 2-3 years old. She was un-neutered when she arrived and was very very frightened. She was showing her fear in the only way she could - by being aggressive. She has now been neutered and is like a different bunny. She is very inquisitive and will rush to see you when you open her hutch door. She loves to have her nose and ears stroked and melts in your arms when you cuddle her - a truly amazing thing to be part of when you bear in mind how far she has come. It is wonderful to see this girl developing her confidence and going from strength to strength each week. Nebula is looking for a home with a neutered male. She has found one and she has gone off to live in her new home with the very handsome Dandelion.

Bruno & Bunty - WE ARE RESERVED
Bruno is a handsome neutered agouti German lop. His good wife Bunty is a neutered black and white English. Both were born in October 2004. At tea this week the hot conversation topic with some of the, how do we put it, well, less sensible "adult" volunteers was the gripping “what TV programmes would the different animals at the rescue would watch should they be lucky enough to own a TV?” Oh yes the fun really does start here after the doors close! All sorts of programmes from Desperate Housewives to Last of the Summer Wine to Loose Women were discussed at length. Delia then helpfully chipped in "don't be so silly, Bruno and Bunty are far to mature to watch TV. They wouldn't even OWN a TV but would definitely listen to the world service on the wireless" (some of the volunteers didn't even know what one of these is but we didn't dare say that). Frankly some of these saddos need to get out more. Bruno & Bunty are looking for a home together with a good quality "wireless" or preferably a re-conditioned gramophone. They have been reserved subject to a home check.

Luke & Laya - WE NEED A HOME See my You Tube video clip
Luke is a neutered black and white Dutch and Laya is a neutered black female. Both bunnies were born in June 2005. Luke is quite quiet and Laya is much more confident - she is definitely the boss and particularly likes her food. These two are a lovely sweet gentle pair if bunnies looking for a home together. They remind us a bit of Ant and Dec because when you look at them they are always sitting the same way round – Laya on the left and Luke on the right (so maybe that should be Dec and Ant). They also seem to like to sit at a right angle when they have their photo taken – there is a rumour going round the rescue that they are just showing off their best sides. They did spend ages in make up before the photo shoot so we wouldn’t be surprised! We did all chuckle this week when it was time for us to put the animals back into their enclosures after they had spent the day in runs on the grass. As soon as volunteer Sarah took the lid off the run Laya had what can only be described as the most pathetic excuse for a tantrum ever seen - three little ‘stamps’, (read ‘tapping the ground gently with her back legs’) and then the most ridiculous attempt to give Sarah the run around followed by a really dirty look when she was put into her enclosure, while Luke just looked at her like she was raving mad. We think that since the Ant and Dec comparison the fame has clearly got to Laya and she is just trying a little too hard to be a diva. Oh yeah, she’s still Jenny from the block!

Pipkin & Clover - WE ARE RESERVED
Pipkin is a black and white black and white nether land dwarf and Clover is a brown and white Dutch. They arrived as a bonded pair of girls born in April 2009. They have both been neutered. Pipkin is certainly Miss Petite but Independent of East Ewell and is very keen to get out of the carry box by herself thank you very much, for a few laps around the shed before hopping back into her enclosure. She is definitely the do-er of this relationship - while Clover just scoffs all the food! He is quietly confident and inquisitive. These two remind us a bit like Garfield and Odie. They are looking for a home together. We hope they have found one, as they have been reserved subject to a home check.

Nora Carrot & Helen Back - AVAILABLE SOON Feed me on eBay
***YOU CAN HELP FEED US ON EBAY - Simply click on the eBay icon***
WE ARE CURRENTLY LIVING WITH OUR FOSTER PARENTS. PLEASE RING IN ADVANCE IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO MEET US. Nora Carrot is a tri coloured Dutch female and Helen Back is a black and white Neddie female. They came to us as strays so we don’t know too much about them, but we estimate them to be aged approximately 3-4 years old. As they were strays they did not have names. They arrived during our name theme that we can’t really explain but Dee Vine, Penny Black and Hazel Nut all arrived during this month. The name Nora Carrot was chosen by a boy visiting the rescue with his parents to collect their rabbits who had been boarding with us. Helen Back got her name because she really has been to hell and back. The day that she arrived she was rushed to our vet for an emergency dental because she had horrendous spurs on her teeth which were lacerating her tongue and cheek – the poor little lamb. She is now eating well has recovered fantastically and is looking really healthy. Seeing her tuck into her food is just lovely. She has a few ongoing teeth problems that we need to resolve before they are ready for rehoming. Helen Back is very nosey. Nora Carrot is very pretty and has lovely blue eyes. She is quite a chilled out girl. These two have now been neutered and will looking for a home together soon.

Ziggy & Chloe - WE NEED A HOME See my You Tube video clip
Ziggy is a grey and white Neddie cross neutered male aged approximately 4 years. Chloe is a brown Neddie cross neutered female aged approximately 2 years. They came to us because their owner has moved abroad. Chloe can be a bit grumpy (in a funny way) and Ziggy is bit hen pecked. When we were talking about the animals at our meeting this week some volunteers (who shall remain nameless) said “Ziggy and Chloe remind me of Peggy Mount and Hugh Lloyd”. When the younger contingent looked confused, the nameless volunteers said “the younger generation will probably relate more to Katie Price and Peter Andre … sorry I mean Katie Price and Alex Reid”. We still don’t understand what he (sorry, we mean the nameless volunteer) means, but we think it must be a compliment. Ziggy & Chloe are a lovely pair of bunnies who are looking for a home together.

Lolly - AVAILABLE SOON See my You Tube video clipFeed me on eBayNew Photo
***YOU CAN HELP FEED ME ON EBAY - Simply click on the eBay icon***
Please do not read this if you are easily offended by our frankness. This is one of the most horrific stories we have heard in a long time. Lolly is a female dwarf black and white bunny born in November 2009 who nearly died in June 2010. She came to us via a vet who received a call from a lady who said that her rabbit, Lolly had been attacked by a fox. Lolly was badly injured and in severe shock, but the lady decided to leave her without vet treatment as she had assumed that Lolly would be dead by the morning. Morning came and inconveniently for the lady Lolly was still alive. So the lady finally decided to contact the vet. She told them that she was prepared to take Lolly to be put to sleep but didn’t want to pay for any treatment, that the children had lost interest and that “she wasn’t a very good pet anyway”. It transpired that Lolly’s companion had been killed by a fox a few days before Lolly’s encounter – the owners had allowed the bunnies to run free in the garden. Lolly was spared that time but the lady left her free in the garden once again. The fox probably thought all his Christmases had come at once. The vet thought that he could help Lolly so, rather than putting her to sleep, gave her pain relief and antibiotics, stabilised her and made her comfortable. When she arrived at Bobtails Lolly had a large wound on her neck, a twisted neck where the fox picked her up and shook her, an injured leg and one eye has been mauled. Every single volunteer was absolutely furious when they heard this story and how Lolly’s previous owner had allowed her to suffer. We are sure you are too. If you are reading this and you let your rabbits or guinea pigs run free in the garden, we hope you are reconsidering. Lolly is now doing really well with the dedicated care that Bobtails are gibing her. She is such a good girl when she is given her medication and we are sure that she knows we are trying to help her - she just sits there when Delia gives her her injection and eye drops – bless her. It was lovely to see Lolly in a run on the grass this week. She seems to enjoy her cuddles and knows that when she retreats to her hidey box we will respect her and give her space. For obvious reasons Lolly is not yet available for rehoming but we will keep you updated of her progress. Lolly is being sponsored this week by Howard Wilson, Jane Stanley, Jo Barnes, Juliet Young, Mia Coles, Julia Hahn and Helen Herbert. Thank you for your support and kindness.

Jasper & Tinky - WE NEED A HOME See my You Tube video clipFeed me on eBay
***YOU CAN HELP FEED US ON EBAY - Simply click on the eBay icon***
Jasper is a black neutered male. He is 8 years old with uppy ears and has a white nose. He is a very chilled out and laid back. His wife Tinky is a neutered grey satin bunny aged 7 years old. Tinky is a little nervous of new situations. Both bunnies have just had their myxi vaccination and will have their VHD vaccination soon. They remind us a bit of Hyacinth and Richard Bucket …. sorry, we mean Hyacinth and Richard Bouquet. This lovely pair of bunnies are completely devoted to each other and their owner was heartbroken to have to give them up. They are looking for a home together. Jasper & Tinky are being sponsored this week by Carol Fenton Balch. Thank you for your support and kindness.

Uncle Bryn & Alice - WE NEED A HOME New Arrival
Uncle Bryn is a handsome ‘mainly white with some black splodges’ lop aged approximately 3 years. Alice is a beautiful silver fox aged 5 years. Both bunnies have been neutered. Uncle Bryn is laid back and chilled out and he likes to lie in his run watching the world go by. Alice is more active. They are a truly bonded pair who are completely dedicated to each other. They are looking for a home together.

Teasel & Mallow - AVAILABLE SOON Feed me on eBayNew Arrival
***YOU CAN HELP FEED US ON EBAY - Simply click on the eBay icon***
Teasel & Mallow are a pair of siblings who came to us after being found in university grounds. We are assuming they either escaped or, most likely, were dumped there by their previous owners. Some people think that letting rabbits or guinea pigs go in the wild is setting them free. What you are actually doing is putting domesticated animals into a situation where they have nowhere to go for safety or cover and you are just giving the fox an easy meal. Despite trying her very best, the lovely lady who found Teasel & Mallow was unable to catch their mum and we are not sure whether there were any more babies. So, poor Teasel & Mallow are orphaned (but at least they are lucky to have been found and handed to us). We estimate them to be aged 3 weeks and we are syringe feeding them a special baby rabbit feed every few hours. They have just started to nibble on dried food which is fantastic, but they still have a way to go. They will not be ready for rehoming for some time but we will keep you updated on their progress. Teasel & Mallow are being sponsored this week by Jayne Cullum. Thank you for your support and kindness.
