Homing Policy

We are of course always looking for the best possible homes for our guests.

What we would ask is that if this is your first rabbit, you have read about their care, there are some very good books available, and unfortunately some not so good but we can supply you with some excellent RWA information sheets, covering all aspects of rabbit ownership, and we are always happy to give advice.

If you would like to visit and perhaps then wish to adopt one or two of our rabbits or guinea pigs, we would have to carry out a home check before releasing the animals into your care, this is just to make sure the hutch and run size are appropriate and secure.

Please see 'Preparing for Your Home Visit' document on the 'Care Articles' section of our website.

We want you and your chosen pet to be happy with one another, as hopefully you will have many years together, so it is important to make sure you have chosen the right companion.

We can offer free of charge, thanks to Pet Plan, 4 weeks insurance cover for your adopted rabbit, and would recommend you consider continuing cover, if you have ever had a poorly bunny, you will appreciate how expensive veterinary care can be.

We do not have a fixed charge for adopting any of our guests, but an appropriate donation would be required, as without funds we could not continue to operate.

Accordingly, if you need to sign over your rabbit/guinea pig to us for re-homing, again, a donation would be appreciated towards their veterinary bills and upkeep, until they find a new home.

It costs us £55.00 to neuture or spay a rabbit and have it vaccinated. Depending on your vet, this could cost you as much as £90.00 for a spay and £45.00 for vaccinations, not including the cost of purchasing the rabbit. Please bear this in mind when making your donation.

If you are adopting a neutered male guinea pig from us, this would have cost us £30.00 for his castration, please bear this in mind when making your donation.

Please note, we can now accept credit/debit card payments as donations. We can also accept cheques or cash. Please bear this in mind when you either come to collect your new pets or drop off for rehoming.
