BOBTAILS TAKE IN DOMESTICATED BABY RABBITS FOUND WANDERING IN UNIVERSITY - 25/07/2010

We received a call from a local vet who needed to find a rescue to take two baby bunnies found wandering on a university campus. The member of staff who spotted them managed to catch the two babies, who we have called Teasel and Mallow, but couldn’t catch the mum despite her very best efforts. Teasel and Mallow, who we estimate to be 3 weeks old, are beginning to nibble on dried food but still rely on the syringe feeds we are giving them. People seem to think that setting unwanted bunnies free is kind – it is not. These domesticated pets have nowhere to go and are just a free meal for the fox. Please don’t do it! Instead, do the decent thing for the pet you are responsible for and contact your local rescue.

With much sadness Bob, one of our long term residents from Duncan's coloney has been put to sleep. He had been with us for many years and will be sorely missed.

It is with great sadness I have to write that Rachel has passed away. She was such a little star and real ambassador for Bobtails. Although her life was reasonably short we are so grateful to Foster Mum Tracey for all her hard work in giving this little lady such a happy life.
