Bud, Dumped bunny update - 2/11/2006

Little Bud the bunny left on our doorstep on Wednesday, is making slow but marked progress, he can now actually stand up on his own, although a bit wobbly, and now can wash with one paw! He is eating little bits of food, and hay with help, we also now have some tiny but formed droppings, hoorah! Those of you who know about rabbits will understand our excitment!

We are giving him sub cut fluids and he is obviously feeling brighter, he is still a mess, we are tackling the cleaning and dematting process a bit every day, we do not want too cause him too much stress, this little chap has been through so much already. We do realise that Bud is not out of the woods yet and we could lose him at any time, but as one of our volunteers said, at least he will not die alone, hungry and thirsty caked in mess and living in filth with no one to show him they care.

We are all willing this little fellow to pull through, he knows, we feel sure that we are doing all we can for him and he is no longer alone.

This morning he wobbled to the front of his pen and licked my hand, what better thanks could anyone have!

Thank you so much to everyone who has sent good will wishes to little Bud.
Delia
