Bud Update - 3/29/2006

Little Bud, the dumped bunnym has now reached the fantastic weight of 1Kg and here at Bobtails, the volunteers celebrated with teas and coffees all round! This amazing little chap is doing so well, he is out in a run with a soft vet bed floor on warm days so he can see the other rabbits in their pens and is so interested in any female buns next door, but does tend to run and hide in his bolt hole when the baby rabbits are charging around like missiles!

He is getting stronger all the time and is now able to keep himself clean, although still not able to take both front paws off the floor to wash at the same time - that will be his next milestone. When little Bud has reached his recommended weight, we will carry out blood profiles to see what damage has been done to him and what we can do to help him long term. Also he will need dental work to sort out his incisors when he is strong enough.

This is all wonderful news; we are able to think of a future for little Bud and hope he continues to improve.

Thank you to everyone for your kind wishes and also donations to help Bud and the other buns and pigs. We will keep you updated with his progress.

We are next open:

***After 20 plus years it is with great sadness that we have decided that the time is coming to bring Bobtails Rescue to an end. Bobtails will finally close 1st November 2022***
