Shenanigans, Captain Birds Eye and Fun Day gossip - 5/12/2008

Well, what a few weeks it has been. I stayed at the Bobtails luxury hotel last week while my parents were on holiday and I am still recovering. I have watched Hotel Babylon many times and though that was extreme but let me tell you something, you ain't seen nothing yet. The "adults" celebrated the lovely Laura's 21st birthday party during my stay and neither me nor my good wife Jemima got a wink of sleep. When I say "adults" though, please take note of the ironic use of exclamation marks. I think 10 month old Hadley was the most maturely behaved of the whole lot of them. You would not believe the shenanigans that took place on the bouncy castle - which was directly outside my suite needless to say. I am seriously thinking of getting a refund. "A good nights sleep guaranteed" I was promised - yeah right!

Unfortunately the only photo I could get was the one attached of Jim. Can you guess who he was dressed as? - and no, it is not Captain Birds Eye.


Anyway, enough about that. All the volunteers have been so busy getting everything ready for the Fun Day this coming Sunday. It is going to be brilliant - everyone has worked so hard and there are such amazing goodies to sell. Delia is still looking for people who can bake cakes. She said that she wants to sell them on the refreshments stall, but I just think she likes cake.

The online auction has also stepped up a pace. If you want to bid, it is still open until midnight on the Fun Day. Have a look at our Fun Day page for a list of items available as well as the current bids. It is much more fun than ebay. I am certainly going to be busy if I win everything I have bid on.

Well, that's all for now. Please do be sure to visit us on 18th May between 12 and 4. Personally I will be nibbling hay and snoozing at home, but all the volunteers will be there working hard.
